I'm a huge Brantley Gilbert fan. So when the opportunity came up to see him again in concert I jumped at the chance. The concert was last Thursday (Jan. 31) at the Independence Events Center.

The Events Center holds in the neighborhood of 6000 people. If the show wasn't sold out, it was close. I didn't see an empty seat in the place that night. I'm pretty sure the seating was built for the average sized person from 1942. Americans are larger now. I'm just glad the people around me wore deodorant that night because we were all very close.

The show itself was fantastic. I missed most of Kip Moore's set because that's when Brantley did his meet & greet.  What I did hear was a solid performance, and the crowd went crazy for "Something About a Truck."

Brantley Gilbert opened up with "My Kind of Party," the song he wrote and Jason Aldean made a hit, and we were off and rolling.  The flow of the show was flawless and he sang his hits as well as the songs he wrote that were hits for others.

It was a great show that probably could have been held in a larger venue.  Were you there?  What did you think?
