Independence Man Charged With Possession of Child Porn
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control arrested of Randall L. Wheeldon, 58, of Independence, on May 8.
On May 7, troopers assigned to a gambling facility in Kansas City, MO, were notified of a person of interest in a child pornography investigation. DDCC Special Victims Unit investigators worked with area troopers to investigate Wheeldon’s alleged involvement with child pornography.
On May 8, investigators with the DDCC Special Victims Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Independence, where they located Wheeldon. During the search, investigators discovered an electronic device belonging to Wheeldon, which showed numerous images of child pornography. Investigators interviewed Wheeldon and arrested him for Possession of Child Pornography. He was transported to the Jackson County Jail.
On May 8 the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney charged Wheeldon with one count of Possession of Child Pornography. Wheeldon is being held on a $20,000 bond.
