Amtrak is reducing Missouri River Runner service between St. Louis and Kansas City, which stops in Warrensburg, effective today, March 30.

Amtrak and the Missouri Department of Transportation says that within the past two weeks daily year to year ridership has declined 90%, with similar declines in advanced bookings and revenues.

Because of that Amtrak is suspending trains #311 and #316 until travel conditions improve. Train #314 from Kansas City which stops in Warrensburg at  9:34AM CDT and train #313 from St Louis which stops in Warrensburg at 8:09PM CDT will continue to operate.

COVID-19 has caused a dramatic decline in the hospitality and travel industries and has impacted airlines, Amtrak, hotels and cruise lines. Amtrak has reduced or suspended service on many routes including service between St. Louis and Chicago and regional service between Chicago and Quincy, Chicago and Carbondale, Chicago and Milwaukee and Chicago and Pontiac.
