If you think you've heard everything there is to know about dating, relationships, and marriage . . . I've got 12 random facts to see just how little you know about the art of getting some romance in your pants.

1.  A study found that men who kiss their wives before leaving for work get into fewer car accidents, have a higher income, and live longer than married men who don't kiss their wives before leaving.

2.  On average, a couple goes on 12 to 14 dates before they trade house keys.

3.  95% of men say they want to get married someday.

4.  Psychologists at the University of Pennsylvania studied data from over 10,000 speed daters, and found that most people decide whether someone's attractive in the first three seconds of meeting.

5.  The butterflies you feel in your stomach when you see someone you're attracted to are your body's stress response . . . and it's caused by the release of adrenalin.

6.  Research from the University in Vienna shows that hugging someone you love releases the feel-good chemical oxytocin.  Which also lowers blood pressure, reduces stress and anxiety, and can help improve memory.

7.  10% of all marriage proposals are made by women.

8.  According to an author named Carol Bruess, couples have worn wedding bands on the fourth finger of their left hands since the Ancient Egyptians over 5,000 years ago.  They believed there was a vein in that finger that went directly to the heart.

9.  According to a study by an author named Myrna Lou Goldbaum, 81% of married couples make it past the first five years . . . 53% last for 15 years . . . and 6% stay together for over 50 years.

10.  According to something called the American Community Survey, 75.3% of people who've been married have only been married once . . . 19.5% have been married twice . . . and 5% have married three or more times.

11.  According to a Facebook study, spikes in breakups happen in spring and right before the holidays.  The fewest breakups occur between the end of July and the beginning of October.

12.  According a licensed psychologist, the BEST predictor of divorce is when one or both of you show feelings of contempt.

So I know I learned something today. Maybe I can impress Husbando with some of these, maybe not.
