Six University of Central Missouri students are preparing to participate in the Global Vision Service Learning program this summer. The two-week experience allows students to experience the culture of another country while participating in service learning projects and interacting with the young people in educational settings.

The students recently met with their adviser, Darlene Budd, associate professor of political science, to begin planning for their departure on July 18. They will travel to Anse La Raye on the West Indies island of St. Lucia, returning to UCM Aug. 1.

The University of Central Missouri had four individuals from its storied athletic tradition inducted into the MIAA Hall of Fame on Wednesday night at the MIAA Awards Ceremony at the Kansas City Public Library - Plaza Branch. Kim Anderson, Kristin (Anderson) Swisher, Darla (Curp) Moberly and Danny Powers were each enshrined into the conference's Hall of Fame.
The UCM contingent was part of the sixth class to enter the MIAA Hall of Fame. This year's class consisted of 10 individuals.
