The University of Central Missouri Athletic Training Student Quiz Bowl team defeated 13 other education programs to win the district team title during the three day Mid-America Athletic Trainers’ Association annual meeting and clinical symposium in Omaha, Neb., 
March 21-22.

Team members are Captain Jacob Kintz , a senior from Odessa; Emily Dalton, a senior from Moberly; Jerrod Sadler, a junior from Clinton, and alternate Kelsey Wansing, a senior from Liberty.

Participants were required to exhibit knowledge in a variety of areas, including heat-related illness, therapeutic rehabilitation, disease pathology, protective athletic equipment, history of the profession, exercise physiology, emergency medicine, human anatomy and insurance documentation.

By earning the new team scoring record of 4,070 points, the UCM Quiz Bowl team will represent MAATA’s seven-state district at the National Athletic Trainers’Association national convention and clinical symposium in June, competing against the association’s nine other districts for the NATA’s national title.

Central Missouri's women's track and field team is coming off of their first conference championship in seven years and first national championship in team history and the conference coaches think they'll take the outdoor title as well.  In a poll of MIAA track and field coaches, the Jennies were selected to finish first with 99 points and nine of 11 first-place selections.

The Central Missouri Mules baseball team continue their nine-game home stand with a four–game MIAA series against Central Oklahoma this weekend.
