I had the opportunity to head out to the Missouri State Fairgrounds for the 2012 Pettis County Relay for Life Friday night (June 8).  This year, 26 teams participated in taking turns walking around a track for 12 hours to raise money for the American Cancer Society.  Each team had  a campsite that was decorated.  They also used them for fundraising.

Some were selling purses and engraved items, others sold food. Everything from complete meals to baked goods.  One even had a "jail" and people would come up to you with a printed warrant for your arrest.  Bail was $2.

And during the event, there was a "Relay for Life Queen" competition.  Several men competed for the honor of the crown.  Dale Malone pulled it off by getting the most donations.  We're very proud of you Dale!

All in all, it seemed to be a very successful event.  As soon as we get the total amount raised, we'll update this post.  Great job to everyone that participated.
