Politics and Social Justice Week at UCM

The University of Central will host the annual ‘Politics and Social Justice Week’ at the beginning of April.

The keynote speakers include Andrea Pino and Annie Clark, co-founders of End of Rape on Campus. According to UCM, Pino and Clark were featured in the documentary film “The Hunting Ground,” which examines the stories of sexual assault victims and their struggles for justice. Pino and Clark will speak on Tuesday, April 4, at 4:00 p.m. in the Student Union.

Pino is director of policy and support for End Rape on Campus, while Clark is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was a lead Title IX and Clery complainant against the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and assisted in authoring the bipartisan Campus Accountability and Safety Act.

Social Justice week begins on Monday April 3rd, with “Israeli and Palestinian Civilians in Crisis,” “A History of Racism,” “Conquistadors to Courtroom: Colonialism Violence and Gender Diversity,” and “Fact Check and American Politics.”
