Moving 101 Gets Sedalia Started on a Healthier Summer [INTERVIEW]
Looking for a new way to motivate yourself to be more active? Don’t know where to start? Not sure what you even want to try? Healthy U may have the answer.
The community health and wellness initiative is launching a series of monthly activities designed to get the community moving in ways they may not have thought of or tried before. The program, called Moving 101, will meet at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month from June through October.
The events are free and open to the public, and all Moving 101 activities will include an activity for children, if they are unable to participate with their parents. I got to talk with Stefanie Fraley of Moving 101 and Healthy U about the events coming up each month.
So make a point to write these other Moving 101 events on your calendar:
· July 17, water exercises at Centennial Park Pool
· Aug. 21, Zumba, St. Paul’s Lutheran School Gym
· Sept. 18, sport style conditioning drills, Susie Ditzfeld Soccer Field
· Oct. 16, Yoga, Kempton Room, Multipurpose Center, State Fair Community College.
