Bruce
You never know what you will get when you tune in to the Bruce in the Morning Show. I will make fun of just about anybody and anything. If it's on your brain, then we can talk about it, so I always invite you to be a part of the show.
We're inundated with ads asking us to join this dating site or that. Chances are someone you know dates online, they just don't tell you about it. It makes sense. If they're not dating you, why would they want you to go online to see what they say about themselves in an effort to get the attention of the opposite sex?
A new study from Cambridge University found that that the key for a happy relationship....is MEN doing more HOUSEWORK! I know. This sounds far fetched at first. But let's look at where they came to this conclusion, since the reason for this seems to be a "no brainer."
I am a social media addict. I have both a personal Facebook page and a "Fan" page. I have Twitter and Google +. Not to mention Linked In and various other professional accounts. I use social media as both a way to entertain and interact with people. Finding the balance is a tricky thing.
I've written about over sharing. No. I'm not interested in what my closest friend had for lunch, so unless there is some benefit to me, I'm not interested in what my Facebook friends have either. Now, I'm noticing something else attacking our collective senses.
Let's face it. The job market isn't the best out there. People are out of work. That brings two things to mind. One: People have extra time, and two: Single people still want to date. Whether or not you're employed, the man that asks you out might not be. Is that no big thing or a deal breaker for you?
I'm REALLY looking forward to KIX 105.7 night at the races this Saturday (June 30) at Lucas Oil Speedway. This is an annual event. Many members of the station will be there to greet you, hand out T-shirts and enjoy the races. Huntin' Harry will be there with an archery game as well. You'll see (and hear) our display when you arrive.
I got a message from a friend of mine this morning asking if I knew where to get a cell phone on the cheap. It seems a friend of hers had jumped in the pool with her phone in her pocket and....yep. That sinking feeling. All of your contacts, emails, texts and social media that was at your fingertips just a few minutes ago is now GONE.
Sometimes when I'm having a conversation with someone, I find myself thinking (if not saying) movie quotes that fit in conversationally. For example, someone might be going a little slow and I'll think "T-t-t-DAY Junior" from Billy Madison. Other times someone will bring up a film and the lines just get passed around the table. "Snotty beamed me twice yesterday. It was wonderful". Other favorites include:
The International Dairy Foods Association says this survey is about Americans' favorite ice cream flavors. And maybe it is, on the surface. But to me, it's a survey on how BORING people are. And we are EXTRAORDINARILY boring.
We got our hands on some Eric Church tickets for the show in Kansas City on September 29. Enter here for your chance to win!
Whenever I see a list that Missouri ranks in, I always pay close attention.
