Weather in the Area Giving Us a Run for the Money
Showers, with a few storms, will move through the area this morning. No severe weather is expected with this activity, but up to an inch of rain is possible which could lead to some localized flooding. Two rounds of storms are expected Thursday. The first will be in the morning hours, with strong winds and small hail possible. The second round is expected Thursday afternoon and evening. There is a greater chance for severe weather with this second round, mainly across northeast KS and northwest MO. Large hail, damaging winds, and a brief tornado is possible. Up to another inch of rain is possible when all is said and done Thursday, which will continue/enhance flooding concerns. All storm chances move out Thursday night. This weekend, cold air returns with lows Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning being in the 20s and 30s. This means we will see a hard freeze, so hold off on planting anything new outside and bring plants inside if you can.
