I could've swore when I looked at the calendar it was still October. Winter is just letting us know that she's just around the corner...waiting!

Light to moderate mixed precipitation will continue for the area through the late morning. Most areas have remained above freezing keeping the roads mainly wet overnight. Snow will start to move into NW Missouri late this morning and slowly progress to the east. As the snow approaches the KC Metro in the late afternoon the temperatures will begin to drop and the light rain/drizzle will turn into possible freezing drizzle and rain. This freezing drizzle will transition to snow around 8-9PM and last through the early morning hours as it continue into central Missouri. Overall, the higher snow totals (2-4”) will stay over northern Missouri with the better chance for a possible glazing of ice along an south of the Missouri River into eastern Missouri. This system will push out of the area by Thursday morning, leaving well below average temperatures in place over the region for Halloween.
