Versailles Teen Injured in Four-car Pileup
A Versailles teen was injured in a collision that occurred Wednesday morning in Morgan County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2016 Volkswagen Passat, driven by a 16-year-old female from Versailles, was at Missouri 52 and Church Road just before 8 a.m., when she slowed down to make a left turn, and was struck from behind by an eastbound 1999 Ford F250, driven by 41-year-old Andrew S. Ehst of Stover.
The VW was then pushed into the opposing lane of 52 and was then struck by a westbound 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by 80-year-old Gary H. Walter of Versailles.
An eastbound 2004 Toyota Sienna, driven by 37-year-old Susan L. Torkelson of Versailles, attempted to avoid hitting the Volkswagen and ended up crossing the center of the roadway, where the VW, after being hit by the Jeep, had spun around and hit the Toyota.
The 16-year-old suffered minor injuries and was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by Mid-Mo Ambulance for treatment.
The Toyota and the Sienna had extensive damage, while the Grand Cherokee and the Volkswagen were totaled. All were towed from the scene by Garber Diesel.
