Two Sedalia men were recently arrested in connection to counterfeit bills and forgery.

A press release from the Sedalia Police Department indicates on July 15, officers took a report from Domino’s Pizza, that one of their delivery drivers received a counterfeit $100 bill during a delivery. Then on July 17, police took another report from a food vendor in the 3100 block of West Broadway of receiving a counterfeit $100 bill as payment for food items. And on July 18, police took a report from Pizza Hut, at 1425 S. Limit, that a delivery driver received a counterfeit $100 bill during a delivery that occurred July 17.

On Wednesday (July 18), police say the suspect in passing the counterfeit bills was identified as 29-year old Brandon T. Swearingin, of Sedalia. Later that same day officers located and arrested Swearingin on E. 3rd Street.

Swearingen was reportedly in possession of several counterfeit $100 bills. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail for Forgery and Stealing. He is currently being held with a $50,000 bond, on 11 counts of Forgery.

On Thursday (July 19), Sedalia Police obtained a search warrant for the residence located at 2212 W. 1st Street Terrace.

Members of the Criminal Investigations Bureau, along with Patrol Officers, executed the search warrant which yielded several additional counterfeit $100 bills. There was also evidence that indicated the manufacturing of counterfeit money. 29-year old Collin T. Bressie, of Sedalia, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold for Counterfeiting, Forgery and Possession of Forging Instruments.
