"The injuries to the victim were significant and he was ultimately flown to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers moving forward.

"Thank you to all assisting agencies: MSHP, Sedalia PD, PCAD, Bothwell ER staff, and Joint Communications for going above and beyond today with navigating search warrant dilemmas.

"I might add, as this comes up often. 1st Degree Assault in this case is a Class A Felony. Those who will say it should be attempted murder need understand that by Missouri law, that is a lesser charge and is a Class B Felony," commented Sheriff Brad Anders.
