A Hughesville woman and a Kansas City man were injured in a two-vehicle collision that occurred Thursday afternoon in Lafayette County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a westbound 2020 Honda Accord, driven by 21-year-old Helen A. Izoita of Hughesville, was on I-70 at the 50.4 mile marker around 12:30 p.m., when the Honda traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a guardrail, and returned to the roadway. The Honda then traveled across the roadway and into the path of a westbound 2006 International tractor-trailer, driven by 56-year-old Robert J. Wright of Kansas City.

The International then went over the guardrail, overturned and came to rest north of the Interstate.

The Honda Accord came to rest in the right lane of the roadway.
