Two Injured in Four-vehicle Collision in Jackson County
Two people were injured in a four-vehicle collision that occurred Monday evening in Jackson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2021 Chevy Equinox, driven by 66-year-old Betina Shreve of Warrensburg, was on Highway 50 at Route F (east of Lone Jack) around 6:45 p.m., when the Equinox struck the rear of an eastbound 2005 Dodge Neon, driven by a 17-year-old male from Richmond.
An eastbound 2010 Peterbilt tractor trailer, driven by 28-year-old Dillon Sonderegger of Union Star, then left the roadway to avoid the crash.
The Equinox then struck the side of the Peterbilt and traveled into a ditch.
An eastbound 2019 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 86-year-old Craig Thomas of Centerview, then struck the towed unit of the Peterbilt.
Shreve and the juvenile suffered minor injuries. Shreve was taken to Centerpoint Hospital by Lone Jack EMS, while the juvenile was taken to Centerview Hospital by Southern Jackson County EMS.
