Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Benjamin A. Owens has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 7, serving the citizens of Jackson County.

Owens was appointed to the Patrol on Jan. 5, 2015, as a member of the 100th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, he was assigned to Zone 9, serving the citizens of Lafayette County, where he remained until this promotion.

Corporal Owens was born in Warrensburg. He graduated from Crest Ridge High School in Centerview, Mo., in 2010. Before joining the Patrol, Corporal Owens attended the University of Central Missouri.

Corporal Owens is married and has two daughters.
