A Sedalia woman was among three injured Sunday morning in a three-vehicle accident that occurred in Benton County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a southbound 1997 Ford F-150, driven by 49-year-old David J. Perryman of Edwards, was on US 65 at Byrum Avenue at 11:50 a.m., when he crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2004 Chevy Suburban head-on.

The Ford then returned to the southbound lane and was struck by a southbound 2011 Chevy Cruz, driven by 31-year-old Kristin N. Ellis of Sedalia.

Ellis, Perryman and the driver of the Suburban, 51-year-old Dennis W. Helt of Plattsburg, suffered serious injuries, and were transported to area hospitals.

Ellis was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance, while Perryman and Helt were flown by Lifeflight Eagle to University of Missouri in Columbia for treatment.

Benton County Deputies assisted the three Troopers on scene.
