Things Could Get Rumbly Tonight

It's the last Monday of August so I guess Mother Nature wanted to leave her business card.

While there may be a few decaying showers and thunderstorms in northern Missouri this morning, our main chance for severe storms wont arrive until the mid to late afternoon hours today, continuing through the evening and overnight hours as storms progress east across the region. Expect gusty winds of 60 to 70 mph, large hail around golf ball sized or larger, and perhaps a tornado or two with torrential rainfall. Storms will move through the region by early Tuesday morning, leaving behind some really nice dry weather for the next few days.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tonight

Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Low around 62. South wind 9 to 11 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Sunny, with a high near 79. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph.

Partly cloudy, with a low around 58. Light west northwest wind.

Sunny, with a high near 78. West northwest wind 3 to 8 mph. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph.
