The Wondrous Thanksgiving Tradition At The Beautiful Hotel Bothwell
One cherished annual tradition in Sedalia is the lighting of the Hotel Bothwell. It’s a breathtaking historic building, and witnessing it come alive with lights, Christmas decorations, and thoughtful touches can really uplift the spirit and mark the start of the holiday season.
If you’re wondering when the lighting event is, it will take place on Thanksgiving night, November 28th, at 7:00 p.m.
I completely understand how easy it is to forget about it amidst the Thanksgiving hustle! There have been times when I overlooked it, only to be startled by what I thought were illegal fireworks.
While there won't be any caroling at the hotel this year, I’m happy to share that Erica from Furnell Investments mentioned they’ll have delightful holiday music playing from their building. Several downtown businesses will also be open for the festivities, offering warm drinks and tasty treats. It’s a wonderful chance to explore the area, enjoy some comforting snacks, do a little holiday shopping, and keep the little ones entertained. Plus, be sure to check out the hotel’s decorations! It’s quite a sight, and I can only imagine how much fun you could have with a game of "Thanksgiving I Spy" among all those ornaments.
If you find yourself unable to attend because of work commitments or other reasons, please don’t feel disheartened. The event will be live-streamed on the Hotel Bothwell’s Facebook page, allowing everyone to join in the spirit from home. The countdown to the lighting starts at 7:00 p.m., followed by a stunning fireworks display synchronized with holiday music.
In the end, this event is such an important part of transitioning from Thanksgiving to Christmas. It captures the essence of togetherness and joy during this special time of year. So, no matter how you decide to participate, I hope you find a way to embrace the magic of the season!
Fireworkingly yours,
Behka
