The Most Beautiful Night For a Man and His Love
Getting together, showing your love and appreciation.... sounds familiar, doesn't it? Isn't Valentine's Day coming up?
Sure it is. But I have a reminder about an event coming up that is much more important. It's a truly beautiful night for a man.....and his favorite little girl.
To me, it's obvious that I'm talking about a special event the Women's Service League of Sedalia had held every year - The Cupid's Ball. If you don't know what that is, I'll give you the quick lowdown. Basically the WSL holds a dance for little girls and a special guy in their lives to have a fancy night out. Whether that's a Dad, Step-Dad, an Uncle, a Grandpa, a big Brother, or just someone they love, doesn't matter. The point is the girls get to wear a fancy dress, dance, and have a special night where they feel like a princess. Or as much as they want to feel like one, that is.

This year's theme is Dancing in the Rain. They've had different themes like Some Enchanted Evening, Wizard of Oz, Frozen, Alice in Wonderland, etc. Whatever the girls will like! They're going to have a live DJ, professional photo booths, face painting, crafts, snacks, dancing, selfie stations, and a lot more. And to me, here's the best bit. Most of the time, the WSL has put an age limit on the girls who can attend. Because, you know, otherwise everyone would attend. I don't think the kids wanna hang out with a 43 year old in a tiara (read: me). The event is for girls aged 5 -12.
The 26th Annual Cupid’s Ball is set for March 1, 2025. Tickets are available Monday, January 20th at 7:00 am. You can purchase tickets at wslsedalia.org
That is, of course, assuming a pre-teenager wants to be seen in public with their Dad. I don't know if I can help you with that one, Pops. But hey, if she does, why not get yourself some tickets?!
The Cupid's Ball will be on March 1, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Smith Cotton High School Cafeteria. Tickets are $25. You can get the tickets online here.
Rainingly yours,
Behka
