Ten Things You Might Remember if You Grew Up in Missouri in the 90s
It’s fun to think back to when you were growing up. I grew up in the 80s and 90s. Some things haven’t changed very much since then. Others have changed quite a bit. Here are ten things those of us that grew up in Missouri might remember from the 90s.
The home run race between Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa. You might even remember where you were on 9/8/98, when McGwire broke the home run record.
Seeing Quin Snyder for the first time and thinking that he was one of the students, not the head coach of the Missouri Tigers basketball team.
Taking your first MetroLink ride.
Running to the gas station to get a bottle of Crystal Pepsi the day it came out. It was very likely the first and last bottle of Crystal Pepsi you ever bought.
Renting a tape from the video store because the box art was awesome! Then finding out that the movie was not even close to awesome.
Even though it was a school night, going with your friends to see Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace at midnight. Like the video rental in the previous paragraph, it also was not as awesome as you'd been led to believe.
Trading your old Joe Montana San Francisco 49ers football cards because you now had new Joe Montana Kansas City Chiefs football cards.
Being disappointed that your St. Louis Blues Wayne Gretzky jersey went out of date so fast.
No Fear shirts, Guess jeans, Umbros and Reebok Pumps.
The Greatest Show on Turf. You might even remember the bob and weave.
