Vacation

Coming up next week, I'm gonna take a few days off.  It's been a while since I've done that; it seems like there was always more reason not to then reasons to go for it.  So now, after Labor Day, there'll be another four Behkaless days - whether that's good or bad for the people I work with is another question for another day.

It's the time of year we often yell out "ROAD TRIP" and pile everyone in the car for some fun...somewhere. It's designed to be a nice getaway, a stress reliever of sorts, but for some it only creates more problems. What chaps your hide when it comes to road trippin'?

When I think about my childhood and the vacations we went on, I wonder if my parents were gluttons for punishment.  My father, the high school math teacher, and my mother would put me, my brother and my sister in the back seat of the car and start the drive.  It was almost always to Clearwater, Florida to visit my grandparents.

We tend to associate the end of summer and the arrival of fall with going back to school or getting back to work, as the vacation season is over. But that doesn’t have to be the case. The northern hemisphere contains some pretty remarkable fall destinations, perfect for weekend adventures or even weeklong getaways...

With summer in full swing, the subject of vacation destinations came up over the weekend.  Of course, there is the usual discussion of where people are going.  Then comes the talk of places everyone WANTS to see someday.  Some were more exotic than others.

Everyone looks forward to taking a vacation.  The chance to get away from the routine of our daily lives and experience something new.  The opportunity to decompress for a few days.  Then it happens. A few days in, we get a little homesick.  Maybe we'll wonder what our friends are up to or picture our pets in the kennel.  Which leads me to the question:

There are a lot of events going on this weekend. This weekend the Mid Mo Outlaws travel to Council Bluffs, Iowa to take on the newly renamed Council Bluffs in what is one of the great rivalries of the American Professional Football League. So Denny and I are hitting the road with them, and we’re looking forward to it. While we realize there is a football game, I highly recommend a trip to this are
