The third annual Sedalia-Pettis County United Way Campaign Kickoff was held at Convention Hall in Liberty Park on Thursday, August 30 at noon. For the last three years, United Way has had celebrity chefs cook for the crowd to show how people can come together for the betterment of the community.

92.3 BOB-FM is an affiliate of the Kansas City Chiefs, and each year we get invited to Kansas Cit Chiefs Radio Affiliates Day, which usually happens in pre-season. Normally I don’t get the chance to go because I’m at the Missouri State Fair or covering high school football, but this year with Al McCurdy bringing us Smith-Cotton Football, I finally got the chance to go.
Mid-Missouri Outlaws Officially Join the CPIFL
Last week we reported that the Mid-Missouri Outlaws would be more than likely joining the Champions Professional Football League. Yesterday (August 22), Outlaws co-owner Ethan Henson held a press conference at the Celebration Center formally announcing that they would join the league as one of the founding teams.

Missouri State Fair Daily Highlights: Sunday, August 19
Today is day 11 of the Missouri State Fair, and is the final day too! Today is Fair Finale/Half Price Day where you can get in for $4 adult admission all day and $1 for kids ages 6-12. It’s also Celebrate Law Enforcement Day where it is free gate admission for Municipal/County/State Law Enforcement with appropriate I.D. and $1 gate admission for immediate family members.
