Earlier this week it was National Video Game Day. I'm a huge video game nerd AND I play all kinds of different games, from RPGs to sports games, from the Super Nintendo to the Xbox 360. I don't even want to know how many hours of my life I've spent playing video games. What I didn't know was that Doug is an even bigger video game nerd.
The terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, was one of the worst tragedies in American history. The horrific event blindsided the nation, and it's a day that none of us will ever forget.
My younger brother Steve is coming to visit this weekend, and I need to know where I should take him. He's a very "extreme" person, and is really into skateboarding and adrenaline rush stuff. He also eats like crazy, so good restaurant info would be appreciated too.
Labor Day weekend is upon us and for many that means a chance to getaway. It seems that every year traffic continues to spike in the area as people travel to near and far locations. AAA is predicting 34.1 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more for the 2013 Labor Day weekend, marking a 4.2 % increase over last year's numbers.
Next week is going to be a big one for me since I've not had a vacation in quite some time. I actually don't remember the last time I was gone for more than maybe one day. I guess when you've got a fun job that doesn't make you actually WORK, then vacations seem a little unnecessary.
Coming up next week, I'm gonna take a few days off. It's been a while since I've done that; it seems like there was always more reason not to then reasons to go for it. So now, after Labor Day, there'll be another four Behkaless days - whether that's good or bad for the people I work with is another question for another day.
Well, I think all of us are feeling a little bittersweet about the end of the Missouri State Fair. Sure, we probably didn't want to be on the national news for strange reasons, and sure, we probably will enjoy less traffic around town, but with all the great stuff going on there, you know you kind of miss it, too. So I asked you guys what you thought was your favorite part of the fair this year.
Lately, we have been treated to some great karaoke to get qualified for the Missouri State Fair Idol. I must admit, it's been quite some time since I have sang karaoke and when I do, I usually need a little bit of liquid courage.
