Remembering September 11: Where Were You on That Day? [SURVEY]

The terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, was one of the worst tragedies in American history. The horrific event blindsided the nation, and it's a day that none of us will ever forget.

I remember exactly where I was on 9/11. I was only 11 years old, and was camping with my family at a State Park in northern Michigan. My younger brother Steve and I were out playing on the playground, when my Dad came to get us. I still remember the first thing he said to us: "You guys will remember this day for the rest of your life." He was right.

We went back to our RV and watched the news unfold on our little television. I remember my parents worrying about a friend who was stationed in the Pentagon at the time. The day had literally gone from a carefree time on the playground to one of shock, fear and sadness in seconds.

Years later, I visited Ground Zero in New York City. If you have never been, it's one of the most powerful and emotional things you will ever witness. It's hard to believe it's been over a decade since the terrorist attacks, but this nation has stood together, and every Patriot Day, I think we grow a little stronger, and a little closer as we remember that day.
