I've always been a fan of the underdog. That's why I appreciate places that I consider hidden gems in Missouri. One of my favorites is a part of the state that is canvased by deep springs, waterfalls and also wild horses.

Sometimes you just need an innocent animal moment to get you through your day. If you're in that place, I have something for you. It's a Missouri Golden Retriever that has managed to convince a bunch of tiny ponies to be his friend.

This is hard to watch, but there's good news that came out of a desperate situation involving 4 severely starved horses who were rescued from a rural Missouri farm this week.

I thought I was the only one who got himself into bad situations. I have been joined in my exclusive club by a Missouri horse who found himself buried belly-deep in a muddy mess.

Saddle Clubs do a lot, especially in rural areas like ours. Their general goal is to promote and encourage care, riding, and enjoyment of horses plus fun and friendship with others.

"Horseplay" now has a whole new meaning for these kids.
