A Slater man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred early Wednesday morning in Carroll County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 1997 Chevy S-10, driven by 51-year-old George W. Mobley of Slater, was on Missouri 41 at US 24 around 4:15 a.m., when the driver failed to negotiate a curve, and the vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck an embankment.

Mobley, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, suffered serious injuries and was transported by EMS to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia for treatment.

The Chevy was totaled and towed.

Carroll County Deputies assisted the Patrol.
