A Sedalia woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday afternoon in Morgan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2002 Ford Explorer driven by 63-year-old Rose M. Ledbetter of Sedalia was on US 50, about 1409 feet west of Lewis Drive (west of Syracuse) around 4 p.m., when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected, and the vehicle overturned, ejecting the driver. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

Ledbetter was pronounced dead at the scene by Morgan County Coroner Dr. Maynard Jones. The body was taken to Heckart Funeral Home.

The Explorer was totaled.

Sedalia Police assisted the Patrol by helping to notify next of kin.
