Just before 6:00 Tuesday morning (Sept 4), local authorities conducted a no-knock drug search warrant and arrested a 26-year old Sedalia man on several drug offences.

A press release from the Sedalia Police Department indicates that patrol officers, detectives with the criminal investigations bureau and drug enforcement unit responded to 502 E. 2nd Street.

Police say entry was gained through the front door, where officers made contact with two adult subjects and a juvenile. The adults were taken into custody without incident.

A search of the residence reportedly revealed methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and four firearms, one of which was discovered to have been reported stolen.

Additional evidence indicated methamphetamine was being distributed from the residence.

After the investigation, 26-year old Timothy P. Cota was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail. Cota was placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of:

• Possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine)

• Possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance (methamphetamine)
• Possession of a controlled substance (marijuana)
• Possession of drug paraphernalia
• 1st degree endangering the welfare of a child
• Possession of firearms unlawful for certain persons 
• Unlawful use of a weapon
• Possession of a defaced firearm
• Stealing (possession of a stolen firearm)
