We're into the month of April and now is the time to start your spring cleaning efforts with a little help from the City of Sedalia.

As part of the City of Sedalia's neighborhood clean-up initiative, the "Clean Sweep" Program divides the City into 12 sections encompassing the entire area served by the City's Sanitation Division. Beginning the week of April 5, 2021 and continuing through the week of June 28, 2021, each area will have a Clean Sweep event. No events are planned during the weeks of Independence Day, Labor Day and/or during the 11 days of the Missouri State Fair.

City crews will be picking up major bulk items on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of each scheduled week. To assist City crews, the residents will need to place items away from trees and overhead lines.

The individual for a fee pick-up on demand service will not be available during the Clean Sweep Event period, April 5 through June 28, 2021.

Residents placing more than 4-cubic yards of bulky waste and 4-cubic yards of yard waste/tree trimmings during the Clean Sweep Event will have a door hanger placed on the door stating the additional charge that will appear on their next monthly utility billing for the excess material collected.

All materials will need to be placed at the curb or between the sidewalk and the street in the greenspace away from overhead lines and trees by 6:00 a.m. on the Monday of the area's Clean Sweep Event Week. Sanitation crews will then spend the week collecting and disposing of the materials for that area.

If you need assistance in determining the cost for materials planed for disposal, please contact the Sanitation Division at (660) 827-7820 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or Public Works at (660) 851-7636 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
