The Sedalia Bombers started their MINK League season last night (May 31), on the road versus the Chilicothe Mudcats. The first three innings were scoreless with Sam Perez from Missouri State University for Bombers, pitching against Cody Maerz of the Mudcats.

The Bombers were able to rattle Maerz in the 4th inning, when Matt Jones and Daniel Arthur got back to back singles and Jess Cartner sacrificed them to 3rd and 2nd base, when Jordan Dey got a single and scored Jones, followed by another single and RBI by Alex Bee and Aaron Meyer was able to bring in Dey on a sacrifice.

The Bombers added another score in the 5th inning off a sacrifice fly from Jess Cartner. That was all the scoring in the game as the Bombers sent a trio of pitchers to the mound. Perez pitched six innings, allowing seven hits and struck out one, Dan Chambliss pitched two innings, allowing one hit and struck out one and Brian Reed finished out the game with not allowing a hit and struck out one.

The Sedalia Bombers will play the Mudcats again tonight at 7 on the road. The Sedalia Bombers home opener will be Monday, June 2nd with MINK South rival Nevada Griffons coming to Liberty Park Stadium.

Once again this year, we'll bring you the play-by-play on Network1sports.com, with Paul Hughes from the University of Central Missouri and myself, Doug Sokolowski, bringing you play-by-play at all home games. We'll keep a seat open for our partner overseas, Kaleb Filis. Keep up the great work Kaleb and the guys with the Bombers say hi.
