As a fan of professional wrestling, I am very familiar with Saturday Night's Main Event.  It first hit our airwaves in the 1980's in place of Saturday Night Live.  This show was found to be very popular during the Hulk Hogan era of wrestling and ratings wise, it did pretty well for the time.  They didn't air too often, and when they did, it often had high profile matches, that continued a story line leading into a big pay-per-view event.

The WWE is bringing back the popular program.  WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event was a television special that consisted of 31 events that originally aired on NBC (and later FOX) from 1985 to 1992. The series was revived for the second time in 2006 and it produced five events before being phased out again in 2008.

There will be two shows in the month of April.  April 23, and 30th. I am willing to bet that these events will be filmed and aired on TV, but that is not confirmed yet.  The WWE will be having it's signature event WrestleMania in early April, and I can promise you, there will be close to 100,000 people at AT&T Stadium in Texas.  My hunch is that, these two Saturday Nights Main Event's will have rematches from WWE's flagship event.

I know that professional wrestling isn't for everyone.  I have always described it as a male soap opera.  But these wrestlers are better athletes than people give them credit for.  Think of this sports entertainment sport as the ultimate Good vs Evil.  Bad Guy vs Good Guy.  I think if you give it a chance, you will find yourselves enjoying it more than you think.
