A Saline County crash involving an 18-wheeler injured a Tennessee man Tuesday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2016 Freightliner driven by 57-year-old Christopher V. Pugh of Chattanooga, Tenn., was northbound on Route YY, south of 139th Road (north of I-70), at 7:48 p.m,., when the driver overcorrected and lost control of the 18-wheeler. The truck traveled off the right side of the roadway, then returned to the road and crossed the center line, ran off the left side and overturned on its side.

Pugh suffered serious injuries and was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital by Sweet Springs EMS for medical treatment.

He was later arrested by the Patrol at 8:41 p.m. and charged with DWI persistent offender.

The Freightliner was totaled and towed from the scene by Don's Truck Towing.

Saline County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
