S-C Music Students Earn District Honors
On Saturday, Nov. 11, 42 Smith-Cotton band and orchestra students traveled to Warrensburg to audition against over 400 students for spots in the West Central MMEA district honor ensembles.
S-C had 22 students recognized and they will perform with one or more of these groups in January:
Honor Band*
Gabriel Toderescu-Stavila, 1st chair oboe (also placed 1st on English horn)
Holden Fox, 1st chair contra clarinet (also placed 2nd on alto saxophone)
Grayson Young, 2nd chair trombone
Ethan Williams, 2nd chair oboe
Josue Carlos, 6th chair trombone
Christopher Gilman, 2nd alternate bass clarinet
Gideon Fox, 2nd alternate horn
