Portion of S. Vermont Ave to Temporarily Close for Resurfacing

A portion of S. Vermont Ave in Sedalia will temporarily close for resurfacing.

The City of Sedalia says Street Department crews are working on S. Vermont Ave on Wednesday (Sept 18), in order to prepare the roadway for resurfacing.

The resurfacing begins and the road will close at 6:00 Thursday morning (Sept 19), when the City will close S. Vermont Ave. between W. 16th Street and W. 18th Street.

As an application of road oil will be applied to the roadway prior to asphalting, residents who would normally park along S. Vermont Ave at the curb or access their driveways and garages from S. Vermont Ave. will need to park along side streets or off their back alleys.

The City says vehicles will not be able to turn onto S. Vermont Ave. from W. 16th ,W. 17th or W.18th Streets or move from residents’ driveways/garages onto S. Vermont Ave. during the period between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

It was noted the work is dependent on weather.
