A portion of Missouri Ave in Sedalia will be temporarily closed for roadwork.

The City of Sedalia says beginning Monday, October 14 at 7:00 a.m. and continuing through Friday, November 1 at 6:30 p.m., S. Missouri Ave will be closed from W. Second Street north, to W. Main St. to northbound traffic.

The roadway will remain open for southbound traffic but will be restricted to one lane along as heavy equipment and workers will be present in the road.

Drivers are advised that periodic road closures will also occur as equipment is moved to allow for directional drilling and placement of new water mains.

Due to the construction, drivers are urged to use alternate routes during the work period.

Construction is planned to start on the north side of the N. Missouri Ave. and W. Main St. (State Route 765) intersection beginning on Monday, October 21 at 7:00 a.m. and continuing through Friday, November 1 at 6:30 p.m. During that time,

N. Missouri Ave between W. Main St. (State Route 765) and W. Benton St. will be closed.

The City says directional drilling to place new water mains will require a large bore pit and drilling equipment in the roadway during this period. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes during the work period.

It was noted the work is dependent on weather and equipment.
