Updated: Man With a Gun Outside Warrensburg High School Shoots Himself After Police Pursuit
UPDATE: According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the gunman spotted near Warrensburg High School on Friday morning was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound a few miles from the school after being pulled over by police.
Police pursued a suspect near Warrensburg High School around 7:45 Friday morning (April 11) after being notified of a person with a gun outside the high school.
According to the Warrensburg Police Department, officers responding to the school learned that the vehicle and occupant described as "white male with a long gun" left the school parking lot. The vehicle was located traveling northbound on Maguire Street near Jefferson Street. Warrensburg Police then conducted a traffic stop near Maguire Street and Clark Street.
Police say there is no continued threat posed by the individual and all students at Warrensburg High School are unharmed and safe.

UPDATE: Warrensburg Police have released more details regarding the incident. The man was identified at 18-year-old Kyle M. Wittrock of Warrensburg, a senior attending Warrensburg High School.
