Pickleball Is Coming To Sacred Heart Next Weekend
No, it's not something involving brining or cucumbers, first of all.
Haven't heard of pickleball? Well, apparently it's a much bigger thing than I thought! There's an association and everything! They can probably explain it better than I can. According to usapickleball.org, here's what the basics to the game.
A fun sport that combines many elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.
Played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net.
Played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes.
Played as doubles or singles.
Can be enjoyed by all ages and skill levels
See, there might be hope for me, then. All skill levels, including no skill! I found a link online that helps to explain and actually shows you how it works!
So why not get signed up for the big Sedalia Kiwanis Pickleball Tournament that's coming up next weekend. Details? Gotcha. It's Saturday September 25, starting at 9 a.m. It costs $20.00 per team (teams of two). It'll be held at the Sacred Heart School, 416 W. 3rd Street. If you want to register, or just ask any more questions about the whole shebangabang, contact Greg Wehrman Greg.Wehrman@centralbank.net.
And the best bit, the icing on the cake, you're getting to play this fun game with your family or your friends and you're doing it for charity. Yep, the money raised goes to the Sedalia Kiwanis. Kiwanis spends that money on kids right here in Sedalia, either on scholarships, Christmas programs, etc. So basically you're having fun, but you're also making an impact - whether you know it or not!
Lemme watch a couple more of these videos.... maybe I'll become a pickleball player after all.
Picklingly yours,
Behka
