Friday afternoon, a cyber based threat was communicated against WireCo Worldgroup Manufacturing, located at 24150 Oak Grove Lane in Pettis County. An immediate investigation was conducted by Deputies, which concluded the threat was false. No emergency existed. The Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the source of the threat as a criminal matter.

Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of East 9th Street Saturday evening. The vehicle was stopped because it did not have license plates. The driver was found to have a warrant for his arrest from Hickory County and a non-extraditable warrant from Greene County. Cody Joseph Lee Weter, 21, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail. Weter was booked in on his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Careless and Imprudent Driving Resulting in an Accident, and Speeding. Weter was held pending a $200 cash only bond.
