On Monday evening, Sedalia Police responded to a drive-in restaurant located at 300 West Broadway Boulevard.   

A subject present was found to be Trespassing*. The suspect was identified, found, and issued a municipal citation for Trespassing.

About two and a half hours later, Officers were called to a grocery store at 701 East Broadway Boulevard in regards to a burglary in progress. Officers were able to locate the same suspect from earlier, and he was arrested. Dwight Albert Trester II, 62, Homeless, was arrested on a charge of Burglary in the 1st Degree and Stealing. Trester was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.

*Trester has been Trespassed from several businesses in Sedalia in 2023 and 2024. On August 15th, he was Trespassed from the same drive in restaurant, 300 West Broadway Boulevard. On July 11th, he was Trespassed from a local gas station, 318 West Broadway Boulevard. In that incident, Trester was nearly hit by an employee’s vehicle as they pulled into the parking lot.  Trester stated he was “doing just fine” and was resting out of the sun. Trester stated when the sun woke him up, he would move.  On July 12th, he was Trespassed from an auto parts store, 2414 West Broadway Boulevard. On July 19th , he was Trespassed from a large retail outlet, located at 3201 West Broadway Boulevard. On August 19th, he was Trespassed from a cell phone store located at 3185 West Broadway Boulevard.  The previous December, he was also arrested on a Trespassing charge from a local shopping center, 1400 South Limit Avenue.
