Friday night, while on patrol in the area of the 5600 block of South Limit Avenue, Pettis County Deputies witnessed a male and a female on a motorcycle driving northbound from the Super 7 Motel, 5650 South Limit Avenue. The male driver of the motorcycle is not known to have a motorcycle endorsement on his Missouri driver's license. His name was not listed in the report. Deputies made contact with the female passenger, who had jumped off the bike as the male driver continued through the parking lot of the Cenex gas station, 4851 South Limit Avenue. Deputies passed her information through JCOMM and was able to verify she had an active warrant for her arrest. Irina T. Shalnev, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested for her Failure to Appear warrant on felony charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Shalnev was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked pending a cash or surety bond of $7,500.


 

Deputies observed a vehicle driving the wrong way on the US Highway 50 Sunday night from Pleasant Green Road in La Monte. Deputies were able to get the vehicle stopped at the Crystal Springs crossover. During the stop, the driver was found to not have a valid driver's license. Raul Augustine Pascual, 27, of Sedalia, was released to a valid driver and given a summons for No Driver's License with a court date.


 

Last Tuesday morning, Pettis County Deputies were dispatched to the 11000 block of Stokley Road in La Monte for a report of theft. A farm trailer was stolen from the address between the night of the 16th and the morning of the 17th. The incident is being investigated.


 

Deputies were dispatched to the 500 block of East Walnut Street in Sedalia last Tuesday evening for a report of theft. Deputies made contact with Chad Potter, who stated that between December 25th and December 28th, 2022, someone entered his residence in the 1500 block of Crestview Drive and stole several items.

Saturday night, Deputies with the K9 Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of East 24th Street and South New York Avenue. During the traffic stop, Deputies were given consent to search the vehicle. During the search, a glass pipe and a baggie of a crystal substance were found. The passenger of the vehicle, John William Bryan, 51, of Sedalia, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bryan was placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges at the Pettis County Jail.


 

Early Tuesday morning, The Pettis County K9 Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of South Marvin Avenue and East 14th Street. During the stop, the driver, Timothy Scott Klein, 64, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Klein was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold. Bond was later set at $15,000 cash or surety.


 

Saturday night, Deputies were dispatched to the area of Bluhm Road and Rattlesnake Hill Road for a suspicious vehicle call. The caller stated there was a white colored SUV parked along the roadway. There was a male standing at the rear of the vehicle, and when the caller asked if the male needed help, he stated "No." Deputies responded to the area and located the SUV. It was parked in a field entrance with the vehicle lights on, facing the roadway. Deputies made contact with the two occupants and checked their information. The female passenger had two warrants for her arrest. One of the warrants was from Pettis County on charges of Driving While Revoked, and the other was from the Sedalia Police Department on charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a Valid License. Jasmine Hernandez, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Total bond on the warrants was set at $550 cash only. The male was released at the scene.


 

Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle because it had no registration Saturday evening. The stop took place in the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Osage Avenue. The driver was found to have a Failure to Appear warrant out of Cole County for Larceny (Passing Bad Checks) with bond set at $200 cash or surety. She was also found to not have a valid driver's license. Martha Luna Izazaga, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on her FTA warrant and a new charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without a Valid Driver's License.
