Saturday night, Pettis County Deputies conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of South Marvin Avenue and East 24th Street. The vehicle had defective license plate lights. The driver was found to have a revoked driving status out of Missouri. Lyoniel Jack Meyers Jr., 68, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Meyers was released from the scene.


 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle because it had expired registration Saturday evening. The vehicle was stopped near the intersection of Forest Park Road and South Kentucky Avenue. The driver was found to be operating the motor vehicle without a valid license. Brock A. Simon, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested and then released on the scene, pending charges.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the parking lot of the Casey's store, 3050 South Limit Avenue Saturday evening. The vehicle had been stopped for equipment and lane violations. The driver was found to be operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, and he was also in possession of a controlled substance. Philip A. Barnett, 49, of Lee's Summit, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Driving Without a License. Barnett was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold.


 

Pettis County Deputies took a report of property damage on the morning of February 20th. They also towed an abandoned vehicle in the 100 block of Baker Street in La Monte. Though initially thought to be related, it would appear the abandoned vehicle and the property damage are not.


 

Sunday morning, while serving civil papers in the 300 block of West 7th Street, Deputies identified a subject as Waylon Matthew Burns, 38, of Sedalia. Burns was found to have several active warrants for his arrest. A MULES check with the Pettis County Joint Communication Center revealed Burns had ten active Pettis County warrants. Burns had three warrants for Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, five warrants for Operating a Motor Vehicle With out Maintaining Financial Responsibility, one warrant for Expired Plates, and one warrant for Driving While Suspended. Burns was arrested for his warrants and transported to the Pettis County Jail without incident, pending a total cash only bond of $1,749.50.
