Pettis County Sheriff’s Reports for August 2, 2024

Wednesday night, Deputies responded to the Tyson Factory, 19571 Whitfield Road in an attempt to locate a subject with a warrant. Deputies located and made contact with Christian David Pinkey Bowman, 27, of Green Ridge. Bowman was placed under arrest for an outstanding Failure to Appear warrant from Greene County on felony charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bowman was issued a $500 cash only bond.
On the morning of July 26th, Pettis County Deputies responded to the 3100 block of Demand Lane in Smithton regarding a report of harassment. Deputies arrived and spoke to the caller in reference to an out of control juvenile. A report was taken and sent to the Juvenile Office.
Tuesday night, Deputies were dispatched to the Pettis County Assisted Living Center, 3017 Brooking Park Avenue, to take an assault report. Deputies arrived and spoke with the victim, who is a staff member at the facility. The caller informed Deputies the suspect was upset, and she asked him to go to his room. He then began swinging his arms and struck her in the left shoulder. She did not need medical attention, but did want to pursue charges. Deputies spoke to the suspect, who appeared upset but could not say what happened. James Parker, 43, of the facility, was placed under arrest on charges of Assault in the 4th Degree. Parker was placed on a 24-hour hold, pending a cash or surety bond of $1500 cash or surety. The next morning, Deputies returned to the facility to take another assault report on a different incident. There were no other details given in the report on the second report.
On the morning of July 22nd, Deputies responded to the 1400 block of Waterloo Road regarding a burglary report. During the investigation, it was learned a male had broken into the shop and stolen approximately $8335 worth of lawn equipment and tools. The suspect was identified, and charges were sent to the prosecutor’s office.
Deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of McVey Road on the morning of July 21st in regards to a reference of indecent exposure. Contact was made with the victim, who stated she works as a delivery person and was in the process of delivering a coffee maker at the residence. As she was delivering the order, the male subject came out of his residence in nothing but a blue t-shirt, and his genitals were exposed to her. She confronted the suspect about it and contacted law enforcement. When Deputies spoke with the suspect, he stated he had stepped out of the house with underwear and a t-shirt on. He said he was “always in yard and driveway with only underwear and a t-shirt on” and didn’t see anything wrong with it as “It’s the same as wearing a bikini.” He denied stepping out of the house with his genitals exposed. Charles L. Malan, 64, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Sexual Misconduct in the 1st Degree.
On the afternoon of July 24th, Deputies took a walk in report at the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office for charges of fraud. The victim stated a couple hundred dollars was stolen from her account in the 300 block of South Main Street in La Monte. The victim wanted to press charges.
On the afternoon of July 22nd, Deputies were forwarded a report from the Howard County Sheriff’s Office in reference to concern for an 11-year-old child. The report stated the child was acting out in a sexual manner in front of other children, and there was concern the child may have been sexually abused. The incident allegedly occurred at a house in the 1300 block of East Boonville in Sedalia.
Deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of South Myrtle in La Monte on the morning of July 19th regarding a report of property damage. Deputies made contact and determined a bullet went through one vehicle and came out striking the other vehicle, damaging it as well. The investigation is still ongoing.
Deputies were dispatched to the Sedalia Police Department on the evening of July 20th in reference to an assault. The assault took place in the 33600 block of Lookout Road. Charges are being submitted.
On the evening of June 23rd, Deputies were dispatched to the 17000 block of Fristoe Road to investigate a 911 hang up. Upon arrival, Deputies learned two men were in a physical altercation. A 12-hour log file was documented.
Deputies were dispatched to the lobby of the Sheriff’s Department on the afternoon of June 26th. Richard Armstrong advised about an ongoing situation involving some people in La Monte harassing his wife. A report of Harassment was taken.
Deputies were dispatched to the Countryside Seniors RV Park, 5464 South Limit Avenue, on the morning of July 6th. The manager of the RV park advised that Kelly Marie Naylor, 41, and Chris Alan Naylor, 62, both of the address, were behind on paying for the month. The manager stated they would like both subjects trespassed.
On the afternoon of July 25th, Deputies were dispatched to the Katy Trail near Boonville Road for reports of a suicidal person. A subject was reporting his twin brother had texted him earlier about wanting to end his life. Deputies were able to find the suicidal subject on the Katy Trail in Beaman. The family picked him up and advised they were taking him to get help at a hospital.
