Our First Full Week of Spring…What To Expect Weather-Wise

Morning fog will reduce visibilities to a quarter mile or less across portions of central Missouri while others will see less dense fog. This fog will clear by 10AM however clouds will linger all day keeping highs in the 50s. After midnight tonight, thunderstorms will move into the area. A few strong storms will be possible across east central Kansas and west central Missouri with hail and strong winds possible. These storms will bring half an inch to an inch of rain to most of area by Tuesday making minor flooding possible.

Here's the forecast for the Sedalia/Whiteman AFB/Warrensburg area according to the National Weather Service:

Monday

A slight chance of rain before 7am. Widespread dense fog, mainly before 10am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 56. Calm wind becoming east southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 10%.

Monday Night

Rain and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly after 1am. Low around 47. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday

Rain and possibly a thunderstorm before 1pm, then a chance of rain and thunderstorms between 1pm and 4pm, then a chance of rain after 4pm. High near 53. East southeast wind 10 to 14 mph becoming north northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
