When I arrived in Sedalia, it was suggested to me by my colleague Behka, that one idea might be to check out as many local places to eat in Sedalia and our bordering towns as I could.  It is always a good way to gauge a small town.  Not the chain restaurants, the local places.  One place that was suggested to me was the New York Deli on Osage Ave.  If you missed my review of the place, you can click HERE for my review.

As you can see by the picture above, it looks like the New York Deli will be closing.  This bums me out and I am certain I am not alone.  I had a breakfast burrito from there that was one of the best I have ever had.  We tried their homemade, made from scratch, biscuits and gravy.  Glorious.  In my review I believe I had a pastrami sandwich.  It was delicious.  I was impressed how this food truck was able to put out such delicious grub from such a little location.  But they did, and I wish I could have been there more often.

We have lost a few popular places in Sedalia that served great food.  I know Mighty Melt closing shocked a fair amount of people and it will be missed.  The Denny's closed, and now the New York Deli will be leaving.  I hope this is not a trend.  What makes a small town great, are the local shops and places to dine.

I hope that you can take advantage of the customer appreciation event that New York Deli has going on.  You have a few weeks to thank them for all they did, and for all the great food they supplied to us in Sedalia.  If they are not going to be able to return, lets send them out with a bang!  They deserve it.
