The Mr. S-C pageant is back! Once a tradition at Smith-Cotton High, the event disappeared for decades before theatre teacher Teri Turner brought it back in 2016, when then-senior Seth Fraley emerged from the group pictured to win the crown.

The pageant, which will feature spirit wear, talent, question-and-answer and formal wear competitions evaluated by a panel of three judges, is at 7 p.m. March 8 in the Heckart Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $5.

This year’s competitors are Nick Anders, baseball; Brinton Beard, show choir; Juan Cantu, STUCO; Drake Carr, band; Colby Edgar, Link Crew; Alex Esquivel, soccer; Chandler Gray, Thespian Society; Seth Harvey, Art Club; Pedro Heredia, JROTC; Evan Luebbert, Math Team; Nate McFail, powerlifting; Tanner McFatrich, Tiger Pride Productions; Blake Pomajzl, wrestling; Dalton Shepard, FBLA; and Kyler Simoncic, football.
