Sedalia Parks & Recreation has set dates for their father - daughter date night and their mother - son date night this spring.

Both events are geared for children ages three to twelve and their parents. The father - daughter dance themed as "Hearts and Heroes Date Night The Fabulous 50's" is set for Saturday night May 22. And "Mother and Son Olympic Date Night" is set for a week earlier on Friday night May 14.

For "Mother and Son Olympic Date Night" Parks and Recreation says, "guests will enjoy a night of dancing, dinner, inflatables, games, activities, and a photo to remember this special night!"  For the "Hearts and Heroes Date Night" guests can expect, "a night of dancing, dinner, activities, and a photo to remember this special date."

I was a boy once, and while I can't say I'd enjoy the dancing. Inflatables, games and activities with my mother were always fun. And as an adult, while I don't have kids, if I had been blessed with a daughter and could enjoy a night dancing with my princess. I'd jump at the opportunity. It just seems like an opportunity to have some fun with the little ones and make some memories before they turn into teenagers.

Both events are being held at Convention Hall and the price is $35 per couple, with $12 per additional child. Each event runs from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT. Dinner is being catered by DK Catering, Photo-booth services are from Sound by Wolf. DJ services for the Mother - Son night is provided by Bentley's Beats Entertainment and for the Father - Daughter night by Sound by Wolf.

You can register for both events on the Sedalia Parks & Recreation website here. And registration is open to everyone resident or not.
