Missouri Company Suddenly Closing and Laying Off 72 in June
I fear this will be the first of many notices of Missouri companies that are either cutting back or closing as we get closer to the next fiscal year. A Missouri company has notified the state of an imminent closure that will result in 72 being jobless in June.
The newest WARN Notice posted on the state of Missouri Jobs site shows that a financial services company is closing.
It states that Broadridge Financial Solutions will be closing their Kansas City, Missouri facility in June and 72 will be laid off as a result. KSHB 41 in Kansas City has confirmed that company closure and resulting layoffs.
This new company closure in Missouri is just the latest in numerous mass layoffs that we've already seen in 2025. The Missouri Jobs site now says a total of 2,131 workers in the state have now been laid off in just the first 3 1/2 months of the year.
For many companies, the new fiscal year begins on July 1 which means many will try to trim budgets to make the bottom line look better prior to that date. That makes May and June an iffy time for employment if a company needs to make adjustments. Let's hope that this company's closure is not the first of many places where jobs will suddenly disappear.
